This past week my family went on our yearly vacation to Newport Beach and stayed in a beautiful beach house my parents rented for us right on the boardwalk. We had the best time doing absolutely nothing but relaxing. We spent most of the time right outside our house playing on the beach. Kennedy loved every minute of playing in the sand and catching a few rays herself. It was a much needed vacation! Thanks mom & dad for a great week! (I apologize for how long this post is, there were so many great pictures to choose from!)

NeWpOrT BeAcH!
This little bucket that Kennedy is sitting in was probably her
favorite part of the trip, she played in it every single day!

HeCtiC, CrAzY, EmOtiOnaL MoNtH!
I've been the worst blogger the past four or five weeks and I apologize. This past month has been quite a struggle for our little family. This fabulous month started off with my dear Grandpa Smart passing away, which was extremely sad for the entire Smart family. I have lived within a few steps of him and my Grandma's house for as long as I can remember so it's very sad he's not with us anymore. I will miss him dearly! Next, came my near fatal hike in Zions National Park where some friends and I were stuck in a cold, icy canyon for 8 hours and eventually saved by search and rescue. A very scary day which I truly believed would be my last! I'm very grateful for my Heavenly Father because I know it was through him that I am here today. Lastly, Chris's grandma passed away last Sunday which took us to Arizona for the funeral. She was such a sweet, smart, witty lady who will truly be missed by the entire Pew family. So in a very lengthy explanation that has been our month. I hope the saying that bad things come in three's is true because that would mean that we are done for a while!
Here are a few pics from our trip!
Chris gave the family prayer and did such an amazing job! It was beautiful!

Happy Easter!
This post is coming a little late, better late than never I guess! We had a great Easter weekend which we spent in St.George with our good friends the Moffits. Kennedy didn't know why she got a basket full of presents but loved all the stuff she found in her Easter basket anyway. We had a fun weekend, as we always do when we're in St. George!
hammin' it up in this picture!

2009 Half Marathon & 5K
Congratulations to all those who ran in the Salt Lake Marathon, Half Marathon & even the 5K!
It's become a yearly tradition for my family to participate in this race. My mom & sister ran in the half and did an amazing job! Chris, Neil, Kennedy and I ran in the 5k (a knee injury took me out of the half this year) and a handful of other family members and great friends ran in it as well. We had a great time this year and are already looking forward to next year!

Outside Fun with Mom & Dad!
A couple of weeks ago we had 2 days of really nice weather so we decided to take Kennedy out to the basketball hoop in our complex and see how she liked playing with the ball. She loved being outside and playing with the ball, but only wanted to play in her bare feet. We had so much fun enjoying the nice weather (short lived, unfortunately) and can't wait for summer so we can do it everyday! I can tell she's going to be a basketball fan just like her mom and dad! (We'll keep our fingers crossed.)
