Kennedy's Recital!!

Last night Kennedy had her vey first dance recital and she did such a great job! Her class looked so darling up there dancing! Kennedy is the littlest and youngest one in her class so I thought she might get a little stage fright and freeze up a little bit, but she didn't! She wasn't scared at all and went out there and did the dance just like she learned it! I was a very proud mama sitting in the audience watching her! She loved every minute of it too, I asked her when she was done if she wanted to do that again and she said "absolutely mom". So I guess we'll be signing her up again in August. Great job Miss Kennedy! We Love You!!

SG Triathlon!

A couple of weeks ago me and my family headed down to St George so that I could participate in the SG Triathlon. I took a couple of seasons off from doing Triathlons about a year after I had Kennedy and decided that this was the year I wanted to get back into doing them because I love everything that goes along with competing in them! Except cold water!! I love training for them (as crazy as that sounds), I love trying to beat my last time, and I love race day! I have the worlds BEST family by side as well! My husband is so supportive during my early morning training sessions, and he's there at all of my races snapping tons of pictures with the girls in tow! I also have such supportive parents, and in-laws, as well as my fabulous sister who always make it to all of my races! They're so great!!

It was such a fun, and hard race. It was an Olympic distance which is a 1 mile swim, 20.5 mile bike and a 6.2 mile run. My bike is easily my hardest event and I enjoy swimming and running about the same (I just hate the feeling when I first have to jump into the cold water, after that I'm good to go.) 1 race down, a few to go!!

Chris & Piper made some new friends while I was out in the water

All done swimming. I was a little discombobulated.

If it looks like I'm walking...I am...slowly!

it holds everything! My wetsuit and my helmet are in there.

Dancing Kennedy!!

I wanted to do a post about Kennedy and what a little sweetheart she is! I'm so blessed that I get to be her mom! She is the funniest little person I know, she's looks like my little 3 year old but acts very much like a 15 year old. When I have conversations with her I feel like I'm talking to another adult, it's so hilarious! She is the best big sister, and loves her little sister like crazy (and boy does Piper love her!) Chris & I are absolutely crazy about Kennedy and talk all the time about how sad we are that she has to grow up. Watching your kids grow up is so sad to me, I know one day before I know it she's going to be having children of her own. I could cry just thinking about it. Until that day comes I try to enjoy every little funny thing that comes out of her mouth, every song she sings at the top of her lungs, every squished night in our bed when she decides to join us at 3am, and every moment we get to spend together! She just started taking dance about a month ago so she's always spinning and twirling and kicking around the house now, it's so cute to watch. I love my Kennedy so much!

Family Vacation in AZ!

This year for the Pew Family vacation we went to Arizona and it was so much fun! Not only was the weather hot and sunny the entire week, but we also got to see family that we don't get to see very often which was GREAT! I wish we lived closer to them because everytime we're there we have such a great time, we love all of them and enjoyed seeing them throughout the week. Kennedy had the best time playing with her cousins, I don't think she ever wanted the week to end. Piper so badly wants to jump up and get into the action with everyone, hopefully she'll start walking soon so she can play too. Thanks so much to my wonderful in.laws for a fabulous vacation!

We LOVE Pool time!

While we were in AZ Chris's cousin Kristen got married so we were lucky enough to be able to go to her wedding. So Beautiful!

Salt Lake Marathon!!

Yesterday I ran in the Salt Lake Half Marathon. I have mixed feelings about the whole day because I did have a great run and got my personal best time, but after the race I was deathly sick for 24 hours (When your as sick as I was, the good parts of the day sort of fade away into the back of your mind). I just love being at the finish line though, watching all of the runners come through. The environment and attitude of the whole morning is infectious! If you're there as a spectator, it makes you wish you were running! So I have to say that the day was more of a success than not! I'm so grateful to my husband for being such a support to me while I trained for this race! I have such a supportive family all the way around and I'm so thankful for them. Its so fun to see all of them cheering me on as I run through the finish!!

I look much happier in this picture than I felt!

My clock time was 1:49
My official chip time was 1:46, a PB for me!

All done, and drinking my Diet Pepsi
Normally it keeps me from getting sick (didn't work this time!)

My sister is the fastest runner that I personally know, she did the marathon this year and
it was not her best run to say the least. She came through in tears (of joy and pain)
Through all the pain she still ran it in a time of 3:54. Awesome!

Sierra, Happy to be done!

Seconds before this picture I was on the ground in fetal position
so don't mind my sickening face.
